What are coding services?
There are many different services which fall under the "Coding" category. Often, "Coding" means the assignment of CPT and/or ICD-9 codes to physician documentation, so that insurance claims can be properly submitted. We contract with our clients to provide this service either short or long term; our coders can work either from our location or the client's office. "Coding Services" also encompasses the consulting work our coders perform. Clients frequently contact us for assessments, oversight (quality control) of their coding, and training for their providers and staff in proper coding techniques.
What are MMRI's fees for coding services?
We meet with prospective clients and perform an initial evaluation of their coding needs for free. Our fees for coding services vary widely, and depend on many factors: the client's size, specialty and encounter volume, the number of coders required for the project, and so on. We would be happy to speak with you and provide you with a firm quote for our coding services.
What training and experience do MMRI's coders have?
Our coders come from many different backgrounds, including medical records management, practice management, medical billing, and nursing. They are certified through either AHIMA or the AAPC. Our coders have extensive experience coding internal medicine, radiology, anesthesia, surgery, and many other specialties.
