"The pressures of reimbursement and cost containment challenge us to develop prudent and rational strategies that will create and sustain financial success. Accordingly, financial management in the health care environment must be innovative and flexible."

With this philosophy, Colleen brings to MMRI over 10 years of accounting experience. Having spent 8 years in public accounting with a concentration in the health care environment, she provides clients with a valuable financial perspective. Her immense knowledge of a medical practice's unique financial needs and her adept skill in defining financial strategies is truly our clients' advantage.

As MMRI's Controller, Colleen demystifies the world of finance for physicians whose passion is patient care. "I enjoy simplifying financial and tax issues for our clients," she says. "Sharing what I know to assist our clients in managing their money is gratifying. Interpreting balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and understanding various tax reporting requirements can be a little confusing for many clients. Providing straightforward, matter-of-fact explanations to physicians' questions and concerns is rewarding."

Colleen oversees MMRI's bookkeeping services. She works closely with a medical practice's accounting firm to facilitate the preparation of year-end financial statements and tax returns. Whether she's coordinating the set-up of payroll, pension plans, or preparing financial reports, Colleen's practical advice about cash management is sought.

Prior to joining MMRI, Colleen served as an accountant whose responsibilities included planning and performing financial audits, evaluated complex accounting systems, and preparing corporate and individual income tax returns. Additionally, she is adept at budgeting and providing financial analysis.

Colleen graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
