"That's the beauty of being part of a well-established, full-service medical billing and management company like MMRI. We bring together experts from the fields of billing, coding, accounting, nursing and management in order to serve all our clients' needs. As an attorney, I add yet another element to this already diverse team."
As a specialist in translating complex regulatory requirements into practical systems, Ann Curran brings a valuable legal perspective to the business of medicine. As an attorney and business consultant, Ann provides practice management services to primary care and specialty care practices of all sizes.
Ann's insight into the complexities of compliance - deciphering HIPAA and CMS requirements, assessing potential areas of risk, and developing and implementing compliance plans - has proven invaluable to MMRI clients. Her understanding of the legal realm is particularly useful as federal authorities make the prosecution of health care fraud a top priority, conducting more investigations of physicians than ever.
In addition to compliance issues, Ann specializes in legal transactions, including insurance contract reviews, partnership agreements, operational assessments and office operations. She provides accurate, up-to-the-minute management and compliance advice to our clients.
Ann is a graduate of Cornell Law School.
She received her masters in business administration from the
State University of New York at Binghamton and received her
undergraduate degree from Carleton College. She is also a
certified coder with the American Academy of Professional
Coders. Prior to joining MMRI, she was in private law practice
in New York. Ann speaks regularly at healthcare industry seminars
on the topics of HIPAA and regulatory compliance.
